Welcome to the Da Vinci - The Genius microsite powered by MOSI

This site is has been created to help keep you up-to-date with the Da Vinci - The Genius exhibition at The Museum of Science & Industry in Manchester, UK, that runs from now until June. This critically-acclaimed show features Leonardo’s inventions to life via working models and explore the stories behind his codices, anatomical drawings, paintings and sketches.

Da Vinci - The Genius also features an entire section dedicated to uncovering the secrets of the world’s most famous painting; The Mona Lisa.

For more details or ticket information click here, but even if you can’t make it to the exhibition we hope you'll enjoy this site and help build a thriving community of Da Vinci fans. You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter.

This is a place to discover and celebrate the remarkable life and achievements of Leonardo da Vinci - and is a showcase for his art, inventions and ideas. It features pictures, films, interactive games and the latest Da Vinci related news. And to see Space Shuttle Astronauts take our special 'Da Vinci Genius Test' and try the test yourself check out our Genius Test tab above.

If you sign up as a member you can also get involved by submitting comments, suggestions or any suitable Da Vinci material. Videos and pictures can be uploaded directly, subject to approval. Any written commentary, analysis or esssay should be posted as a blog, and if it's suitable we will upload it to our Apocrypha tab. We can't guarantee we can upload everything - but we'll try to ensure all our content is both high quality and updated regularly.

Happy new years

Sorry I have not been in contact more often. Thing's have not been easy lately. What is my daughters favorite saying "but ya get that"!. Wish I didn;t get "that" so often.

Guardian's Poem of the week: 'La Gioconda' by Michael Field

The Mona Lisa has served as an inspiration for generations of writers, musicians and artists - not least the mysterious double act who went by the nom-de-plume 'Michael Field'.

Katharine Bradley (1846-1914) and Edith Cooper (1862-1913) were component parts that made up Michael and lived and worked together in the 19th Century.
